Where are the pickup / drop off locations?

Camp will take place at the new FunFit HQ for Summer 2024. Our address is 752 West End Avenue NYC 10025. One block from the 96th Street Subway Staton for the 1,2,3 trains.

All drop off and pick ups (including early drop off and late pick up) will take place here.

Question 2

What is the camper/instructor ratio and how do you group children?

We limit groups to 15 children. Our ratios are as follows:
 
- Little Athletes 3-4 years old: 1:5
- Major Athletes 5-9 years old: 1:6
- For off site field trips, the ratio is always 1:5
 
Campers are grouped together by age group/grade level.

Question 3

Can my child be in a group with a friend or a sibling(s)?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but it depends! Campers must be entering the same grade or within one grade apart. We ask that each family fill out the “Friend Request” area during registration. We will always do our best to accommodate friend requests, but can not guarantee campers will always be placed in groups with their friends.

Question 4

What hours is camp?

Accepted Answer

For Little Athletes: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (with late pick up at 1:00 PM)
For Major Athletes: 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM (with late pick up at 5:00 PM)

Early drop off for both Little Athletes and Major Athletes is at 8:15 AM

What should my child bring to camp?

All belongings should be packed together in a backpack and clearly labeled with your child’s first and last name.
 
- Snack
- Lunch
- Reusable water bottle
- Sunscreen. Should be applied prior to camp and packed for reapplication
- Bug spray
- Change of clothes
- Swimsuit, towel and water shoes (if swimming or water activities)
- FunFit Kids t-shirt on trip days
 
*Please do not pack toys, nicknacks or any other item that can be a distraction to your child and/or others.

Question 6

What should campers wear to camp?

Campers should wear comfortable sneakers that they can move in and clothes they can play games in. Younger campers are encouraged to pack an extra set of clothes to leave in their cubby. Be sure to pack appropriate water gear for swimming/water activities.

Who are your staff?

FunFit Kids staff members include trained athletes, seasoned coaches, aspiring and experienced teachers, performing artists, camp enthusiasts, and above all, dedicated youth development workers. We share a common goal to provide positive experiences and opportunities through sports and creative play.

Question 8

Are there make ups?

Accepted Answer

There are no make ups during summer camp. There are no refunds or discounts for being absent due to sickness, vacation, inclement weather, other programming, or any other reason including moving, unexpected circumstances, etc.  A camper’s weeks are able to be switched pending availability (price may vary). All transfers must be made before June 1st. Camper weeks cannot be transferred to another child.

Is lunch or snacks provided?

For Major Athletes (ages 5-9), campers must bring their own nut-free lunch daily. FunFit Kids will provide snack twice a day. You are encouraged to pack additional snacks.
 
Little Athletes (ages 3-4) do not need to bring lunch unless they are staying for the extended day. FunFit Kids will provide one snack daily, you are welcome to pack additional snacks.

What happens if it rains?

We have a protocol that includes tracking the weather daily.  Our camp director will contact families ahead of time to notify any changes in the schedule. Rainy day schedules will take place at 752 West End Avenue at our FunFit HQ. All campers will be dropped off and picked up from this location. If it rains in the middle of the day we may stay inside as opposed to going to the park but the camp director will make a judgement call in real time. Rainy days may also include screen time (movie). If the weather becomes dangerous (according to NYS guidelines) we will close early or cancel camp for that day.

Question 11

What medical staff do you have?

Each camp has a designated Director. In addition, the majority of our staff is First Aid, AED, and CPR certified. We also have an RN on call during the Summer season should we need to consult further. FunFit staff members will reach out to families immediately should a medical emergency arise.

Question 12

My child has allergies and needs to have an Epi-Pen nearby, what should I do?

Please notify us about any allergies by filling out the specific allergy section on the health form. If need be, please bring an Epi-pen with you to camp, clearly labeling it with your child's name. Speak to the camp director about the specific allergies so that we are able to educate the staff and counselors. In the case of an emergency, our team will assist with Epi-pen application.

Question 13

Do you offer swim lessons?

Yes! Swim lessons will be offered for Summer 2025. We offer swim with our neighbor, Imagine Swimming, also located at 752 West End Avenue. Swimming is an additional fee which must be selected at time of registration. Campers swim twice a week. Parents and/or guardians will have to also complete registration through the swim school once they submit payment on our registration platform.
